Workshop Terms & Conditions

These Terms & Conditions apply to public and private floral workshops provided by Nightingale Florals & Events. By booking and paying for a workshop, you confirm that you have read and agree to these terms.

Terms & Conditions

1. Booking & Payment
Your place on a workshop is only confirmed once the required payment has been received and your booking has been accepted.
Workshop places are subject to availability and are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.

The price shown at the time of booking applies to that workshop and includes the materials specified within the workshop description.

Some workshops may offer optional flowers, accessories, decorations or upgrades for an additional charge.

Bookings may be processed through a third-party payment provider such as SumUp.

2. Workshop Cancellations by You
Workshop places are reserved specifically for you, and flowers, foliage and other materials may be ordered and prepared in advance.
If you are unable to attend, please contact Nightingale Florals as soon as possible.

Where sufficient notice is provided, Nightingale Florals may, at its discretion, allow you to transfer your place to another available workshop date or transfer your place to another person.

Transfers are subject to availability and cannot be guaranteed. If another person is attending in your place, please provide their name before the workshop.

Where materials have already been ordered or prepared specifically for your booking, it may not be possible to provide a refund.

Nothing within these terms affects any statutory cancellation or refund rights that apply to your booking.

3. Cancellation by Nightingale Florals
In the unlikely event that Nightingale Florals needs to cancel a workshop, you will be offered either a transfer to another suitable workshop date or a refund of the workshop fee paid.

Nightingale Florals cannot accept responsibility for additional costs incurred as a result of a workshop cancellation, such as travel, accommodation or childcare, except where legally required.

4. Changes to Workshops
Occasionally it may be necessary to make reasonable changes to a workshop because of flower availability, supplier issues, seasonal availability or circumstances outside our reasonable control.

Suitable substitutions may be made to flowers, foliage, accessories or other materials where necessary. Every effort will be made to ensure alternatives are of an appropriate quality and maintain the overall style of the advertised design.

5. Flowers, Foliage & Natural Materials
Floristry involves natural and seasonal products. The exact flowers, foliage, berries, fruit, cones and other natural materials shown in photographs cannot always be guaranteed.

Natural materials will vary in colour, shape, size and texture. Promotional photographs are therefore intended to demonstrate the style of the workshop rather than guarantee an identical finished arrangement.

6. Workshop Times & Arrival
Please carefully check the date, time and location shown on your booking confirmation.

We recommend arriving approximately 10 minutes before the advertised start time so the workshop can begin promptly.

If you arrive late, Nightingale Florals will do its best to help you catch up. However, it may not be possible to repeat demonstrations or extend the workshop beyond the scheduled finishing time.

7. Workshop Locations
Public workshops may be held at Willington Village Hall, Derbyshire, or another venue stated on the individual workshop listing.

Please check your booking confirmation before travelling.

Nightingale Florals cannot be responsible for attendees travelling to an incorrect venue or attending on the wrong date, except where incorrect information has been provided by Nightingale Florals.

8. What’s Included
Unless otherwise stated, all essential materials and equipment required to create the advertised workshop design will be provided.

This may include flowers, foliage, moss, wire, wreath rings, floral foam, containers, ribbons, decorations and use of floristry tools.

Some workshops may offer additional accessories, decorations or flowers that can be purchased separately.

Your completed floral design is yours to take home at the end of the workshop unless otherwise stated.

9. Allergies & Sensitivities to Floristry Materials
Nightingale Florals workshops involve a variety of fresh, dried, preserved and artificial floristry materials. These may include fresh flowers, foliage, pollen, moss, pine and other conifers, eucalyptus, ivy, berries, dried flowers, dried fruit, seed pods, cones, floral foam, wire, adhesives, ribbons, decorative materials and other natural and manufactured floristry products.

Some flowers, plants and materials can cause allergic reactions, skin irritation or sensitivity in certain individuals.

If you have a known allergy or sensitivity to flowers, plants, pollen, foliage, moss, latex, adhesives or any other material that could be used during a workshop, you must inform Nightingale Florals before attending.

Where reasonably possible, alternative materials or adjustments can be discussed. However, because floristry workshops involve numerous natural materials within a shared working environment, Nightingale Florals cannot guarantee an allergen-free environment.

Attendees are responsible for informing Nightingale Florals of relevant allergies and sensitivities and taking reasonable precautions appropriate to their individual requirements.

If you experience a reaction or feel unwell during a workshop, please stop using the relevant materials and inform Emily immediately.

Nothing within this section excludes or limits liability that cannot legally be excluded.

10. Food, Drink & Allergies
Selected workshops may include complimentary refreshments such as fizz, non-alcoholic drinks, hot drinks, chocolates, mince pies, cakes, biscuits and other seasonal treats.

Food and drink may contain, or have come into contact with, allergens including milk, eggs, gluten-containing cereals, nuts, peanuts, soya and other allergens.

If you have a food allergy, intolerance or dietary requirement, please notify Nightingale Florals before attending the workshop.

Reasonable efforts will be made to provide suitable alternatives where possible. However, food and drink may be manufactured, prepared or served in environments where allergens are present. An allergen-free environment or complete absence of cross-contamination cannot be guaranteed.

Where packaged food or drink is provided, attendees with allergies should check the manufacturer’s ingredients and allergen information before consuming it. Please ask if you would like to see the original packaging or allergen information.

If you are uncertain whether a food or drink is suitable for you, please do not consume it.

11. Alcohol
Selected workshops may include a complimentary glass of fizz or another alcoholic refreshment.

Alcohol will only be provided to attendees who are legally permitted to consume it. Nightingale Florals reserves the right to refuse to serve alcohol where there are reasonable concerns regarding age, intoxication, behaviour or safety.

A non-alcoholic alternative will be available where appropriate.

Attendees are responsible for drinking responsibly and for their own alcohol consumption.

12. Alcohol, Floristry Tools & Intoxication
Floristry workshops are practical activities and may involve scissors, secateurs, floristry wire, pins and other tools.

Attendees must not use scissors, secateurs or other sharp equipment if their ability to use them safely has been impaired by alcohol, medication or another substance.

Nightingale Florals reserves the right to stop an attendee using equipment, refuse to provide further alcohol, stop an attendee participating in an activity, or ask an attendee to leave the workshop where there is a reasonable belief that their level of intoxication or behaviour presents a safety risk to themselves, other attendees, staff, the venue or property.

Where an attendee is required to leave because of unsafe behaviour or intoxication, a refund will not normally be provided, subject to their statutory rights.

13. Drinking & Driving
Attendees are responsible for arranging appropriate and safe transport following a workshop.

Do not drive if you are over the legal alcohol limit or otherwise unfit to drive.
Nightingale Florals accepts no responsibility for an attendee’s decision to drive after consuming alcohol, except where liability cannot legally be excluded.

14. Floristry Tools & Workshop Safety
Workshops may involve the use of scissors, secateurs, floristry wire, pins, floral foam, moss, water, natural foliage, adhesives and other floristry tools and materials.

Instructions and demonstrations will be provided where appropriate.
Attendees are responsible for following the safety instructions provided and using equipment only for its intended purpose.

Please ask for assistance if you are unsure how to use any equipment.

15. Accidents & Liability
Nightingale Florals takes reasonable care to provide a safe workshop environment, appropriate equipment and suitable instructions.
However, floristry is a practical activity involving tools, natural materials and water, and attendees are expected to take reasonable care for their own safety and that of others.

Nightingale Florals will not be responsible for injury, loss or damage caused by an attendee’s misuse of equipment, failure to follow reasonable safety instructions, inappropriate behaviour or unsafe consumption of alcohol, except where Nightingale Florals is legally liable.

Attendees participate at their own risk to the extent permitted by law.
Nothing within these Terms & Conditions excludes or limits liability where it would be unlawful to do so.

16. Children & Young People
Unless specifically advertised as a children’s or family workshop, please contact Nightingale Florals before booking a place for anyone under 18.
Age restrictions and supervision requirements may apply depending on the workshop and equipment being used.

Alcohol will not be provided to anyone under the legal drinking age.

17. Accessibility
If you have an accessibility requirement that may affect your participation, please contact Nightingale Florals before the workshop.
Reasonable adjustments will be discussed and accommodated where reasonably possible.

18. Christmas Workshops
Christmas workshops may involve fresh and dried materials including foliage, moss, berries, pine, cones, dried fruit and flowers.

As these are natural materials, their appearance and longevity will vary. Fresh foliage will naturally dry, fade or change appearance over time.
Optional decorative or floral upgrades may be available for an additional charge.

19. Private Workshops
Private workshops can be arranged at your home, workplace, village hall or another suitable venue.

Private Christmas workshops normally require a minimum of 8 people, unless otherwise agreed in writing.

Private workshops are subject to Emily’s availability, venue suitability, sufficient space, appropriate access and agreed participant numbers.
The person organising the private workshop is responsible for ensuring the venue is suitable and has permission for the workshop to take place.
Any venue hire costs are the customer’s responsibility unless expressly included within the quotation.

20. Private Workshop Final Numbers
Final participant numbers will be agreed before materials are purchased and prepared.

Once final numbers have been confirmed and materials ordered, it may not be possible to reduce the booking or refund places that are no longer required.

Additional attendees may be added subject to sufficient notice, materials, venue capacity and availability.

21. Private Workshop Host Offer
Where a promotional offer is advertised, the specific conditions of that offer will apply.

For the 2026 Private Christmas Workshop Host Offer, bookings made by 30 September 2026 qualify for the host’s workshop place free, subject to a minimum booking of 8 participants, date availability, the booking being confirmed within the promotional period, and any additional conditions communicated at the time of booking.

There is no cash alternative and the offer cannot be combined with another promotion unless agreed by Nightingale Florals.

22. Photography & Social Media
Photographs and short videos may occasionally be taken during workshops for use on Nightingale Florals’ website, portfolio and social media.
Where identifiable attendees are being photographed for promotional purposes, appropriate permission will be sought where required.
If you would prefer not to appear in photographs or videos, please let Emily know.

Attendees are welcome to photograph their own creations and share them on social media.

23. Personal Belongings & Clothing
Floristry can be messy and workshops may involve water, foliage, moss, soil, sap and other natural materials.

Please wear clothing and footwear suitable for a practical floristry workshop.
Nightingale Florals cannot accept responsibility for damage caused to clothing or personal belongings by floristry materials where reasonable care and instructions have been provided, except where Nightingale Florals is legally liable.

Please take reasonable care of your belongings while attending.

24. Damage Caused by Attendees
Attendees may be responsible for the reasonable cost of damage to Nightingale Florals equipment or venue property where damage results from deliberate behaviour, negligence or misuse of equipment.

25. Finished Designs
Floristry is creative, and every attendee’s finished design will be individual.
Promotional photographs are examples of what may be created and do not guarantee that your finished arrangement will be identical.

Fresh flowers and foliage are perishable natural products. The longevity of your finished design will depend on the materials used, where it is displayed and how it is cared for after the workshop.

Care advice will be provided where appropriate.

26. Gift Vouchers & Promotional Codes
Where gift vouchers or promotional codes are accepted, the individual terms, conditions and expiry dates applicable to them will apply.

Gift vouchers cannot be exchanged for cash unless required by law.

27. Personal Information
Personal information supplied when booking or enquiring about a workshop will be used to administer your booking and communicate with you about the workshop.

Personal information will be handled in accordance with the Nightingale Florals Privacy Policy and applicable UK data protection law.

Submitting a workshop booking does not automatically subscribe you to general marketing communications.

28. Consumer Rights
Nothing in these Terms & Conditions is intended to restrict your statutory rights as a consumer.

Where UK consumer law provides cancellation, refund or other rights that override any part of these terms, those statutory rights will apply.

29. Acceptance of Terms
By booking and paying for a Nightingale Florals workshop, you confirm that you have read and accepted these Workshop Terms & Conditions.

Where possible, the online booking process should require customers to actively confirm:

“I have read and agree to the Nightingale Florals Workshop Terms & Conditions.”
